The Picture Card Company
The Monochrome Collection
Baby Sensory Pack
Our Baby Boy is almost 4 months old and we have been using the Baby Sensory Pack from the Monochrome Collection for about a week now.
When I first opened the packet, I could immediately tell that the cards are made from very good quality material and have a lovely, smooth glossy finish. I really like the rounded corners - it feels much safer to let my little one hold the cards himself when we're playing without sharp pointed corners (that was clearly well thought through during the design process).
All of the cards have bold patterns with different shapes and images which would be interesting for adults to look at as well as babies.
I was probably a little bit sceptical, to be fair, about how I could expect my little baby to be interested in black and white images on cards, but as soon as I saw my little one's face light up when looking at the first one I was won over. I wish I could see them through his eyes because his smile lit up the room.
We have used them every day for the past seven days and it is really interesting because not only does he really enjoy looking at them but I can see his focus or attention increasing as well. I will say that he prefers lying on his back to look at them at the moment rather than using them during tummy-time, but that could simply be because he's currently more comfortable on his back.
I am also really curious because I have noticed that he absolutely loves the pictures with curves and spirals but has very little interest in the ones with straight edges. I have no idea what this means but I am very much looking forward to seeing if this changes or continues.
I genuinely love using these cards with him and it's great that my older children can use them to interact with their baby brother as well.
